Becoming a coach
At Pure Gymnastics Club all classes are lead by British Gymnastics qualified coaches.
All of our classes are lead by British Gymnastics qualified coaches who have years of experience both in the coaching world and as gymnasts.
Our experienced coaches have participated in gymnastics at a regional, national and even world championships level. We are excited to pass our knowledge on to the next generation of enthusiastic gymnasts.
Each session follows a structured programme where children can jump, roll, balance, climb and explore their gymnastics skills through fun, age-appropriate activities.
With guidance from our qualified coaches, gymnasts develop skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, jumping, landing and balancing, while building strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence along the way.
Every class is a chance to try something new, make friends and have fun while learning the foundations of gymnastics.

Becoming a qualified gymnastics coach is an exciting and fun pathway, with a number of compulsory steps along the way. Click here to see the coaching pathway on Welsh Gymnastics, or see below for an outline of the pathway:
Start with a Sport Leaders Award in Gymnastics:
A 1-day in person leadership program focused heavily on volunteering skills, communication, and confidence-building.
Gymnastics Helper:
Gymnastics Helper course involves E-learning and practical training for developed volunteers to understand how to support safety, basic duty of care and session assist roles.
Foundations of Gymnastics Coaching:
An online, self-paced prerequisite course via the British Gymnastics Academy
Delivering Gymnastics Activities:
A blended online and 3-day practical in-person course (for ages 16+) which replaces the old Level 1 award to become an Assistant Coach.
Progress to Level 2:
Advance your skills by completing discipline-specific Level 2 training (requiring a mentor) to plan, deliver, and review sessions independently under broader guidance.
Safeguarding and Vetting:
Complete mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules such as Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Positive Coaching, Best Practice in Flexibility and more.
