Competition Squad

Our Competition Squad will provide a focused training environment for gymnasts who are ready to take their acrobatic gymnastics journey further and work towards competing.

Training will build on the foundations learned within our Development Squad, with a focus on refining individual and partnered acrobatic skills, developing routines, improving technique and performance, and building the strength, flexibility, control and confidence required for competitive gymnastics.

Gymnasts will also develop the teamwork, trust, resilience and commitment needed to train and perform together.

Competition Squad training will require a high level of commitment, with gymnasts expected to attend regular training sessions, demonstrate good attendance, maintain a positive attitude and show a willingness to learn, develop and work towards shared goals.

The purpose of this squad is for gymnasts wishing to compete and enter into a competitive training programme.

Squad Trial

How will gymnasts join?

The Competition Squad will be invite and trial based.

Gymnasts who demonstrate the appropriate skills, attitude, commitment and potential for Competition Squad training may be invited to attend a trial, when places become available.

The Competition Squad has not yet launched, but we are excited to introduce it to Pure Gymnastics Club in the coming months.

What is the trial?

The Competition Squad Trial is where your child has been invited to join in one of our squad training sessions; the coaching team will assess their potential pathway within the squad.

This is also a chance for your child to experience a typical training session and see if it is something they enjoy and would like to join, before fully committing. This is a trial for a competitive training programme and so expectations, commitment levels and training hours differ from our other classes and squads.

The Competition Squad Trial covers many areas, the coaches are assessing potential pathways for your child within the squad, following the trial gymnasts and their parents will have an informal chat with the head coach to reflect and feedback on the trial session.
